Prodrive
Based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, Prodrive is a British racing and advanced engineering company. It creates, assembles, and competes in auto racing for organizations and teams including Aston Martin, Bahrain Raid Xtreme, and Team X44. This racing engineering methodology is used by its advanced technology business to provide technical solutions to automotive OEMs, the aerospace, defense, marine, and other industries, which now account for more than half of company revenue. In Milton Keynes, Prodrive's specialized composite section produces lightweight CFRP and visual carbon components for a variety of supercars as well as increasingly for the luxury automobile, aerospace, and marine industries.
With the Subaru World Rally Team, Prodrive developed championship-winning vehicles for Colin McRae, Richard Burns, and Petter Solberg. These vehicles are now housed in the Prodrive Heritage Collection at its new Banbury headquarters along with a large number of other vintage race and rally vehicles. Aston Martin Racing competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship, Bahrain Raid Xtreme competes in the Dakar and World Rally-Raid Championship, and Team X44 of Lewis Hamilton competes in Extreme E. The Subaru World Rally program was discontinued in 2008, however it still has racing factory programs today.
The firm has offices in Milton Keynes and Banbury, where it employs close to 500 people.
