Vinfast
A private automobile corporation with its headquarters in Singapore, VinFast LLC was created in Vietnam. It was created in 2017 and is a subsidiary of Vingroup, one of the biggest private conglomerates in Vietnam and the brainchild of Phm Nht Vng. It is the first Vietnamese automaker to enter international markets and the first to start making EVs, such as electric scooters and vehicles.
Vingroup started the business in 2017. With assistance from Pininfarina, BMW, and Magna Steyr, the business created its models and took part in the 2018 Paris Motor Show. According to VinFast, it will be the country's first mass-market carmaker and the first Vietnamese automaker to take part in a significant international auto show.
Construction of an 828-acre (3,350,000 m2) facility for VinFast began in September 2017 at an industrial zone on Cat Hai Island close to the city of Hai Phong. In under 21 months, the factory's paint shop, press shop, assembly shop, and engine shop were all built. The first phase of a planned to produce vehicles and electric motorcycles at a greenfield facility on the grounds will cost US$1.5 billion. The business asserted that it has gathered expertise from several well-known businesses and is looking for European partners in design, engineering, and production technologies. The LUX SA2.0 and LUX A2.0, both created by Pininfarina, are the first two automobiles that were displayed at the Paris Motor Show in the fall of 2018.

VinFast will acquire the current General Motors (GM Korea) facility in Hanoi and will have the only right to distribute Chevrolets in Vietnam (VIDAMCO). In August 2018, VinFast and Siemens Vietnam, a division of Siemens AG, inked two contracts for the provision of technology and parts for the production of electric buses in Southeast Asian nations.
On March 21, 2019, VinFast shipped the first batch of 155 VinFast Lux vehicles—of which 113 are finished models and 42 are in the pre-finishing stages—to Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa for in-field quality testing in order to earn a 5-star ASEAN NCAP certification.
The inaugural race of the Formula One Vietnamese Grand Prix, scheduled for the 2020 season, would have had VinFast as the title sponsor. The COVID-19 epidemic later forced the cancellation of the race.
VinFast ranked as the fifth top selling automobile brand in Vietnam in Q1 2020.
VinFast cars were reportedly seen in South Africa for field tests at Kakamas in the Northern Cape Region and in Cape Town on February 25, 2020.

VinFast published early renderings of a pickup truck in development in December 2020, a few weeks after buying the Lang Lang testing facility. A three-door hatchback, two distinct coupe-style SUVs, a tiny SUV, a four-door coupe, a few people movers, and electric scooters were among the other vehicles under development. The patents for these vehicles are scheduled to expire on January 14, 2024, citing the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam.
Unnamed sources reportedly told Reuters on April 30, 2021, that VinFast intended to raise money in the United States through a SPAC. The CEO of VinFast was unable to confirm or refute these ambitions. The company's IPO would be postponed owing to SPAC inspection, according to news reports from May 28, 2021.
Parent company Vingroup stated on July 27, 2021, that Michael Lohscheller, the CEO of Opel, had been named the head of VinFast Worldwide. On December 27, 2021, five months after the first announcement, Lohscheller's resignation was made public.

At VinFast's production facility in Hai Phong, on December 25, 2021, Vinfast delivered the first batch of 100 VF e34 electric crossovers to Vietnamese consumers. The VF e34 is both the first electric car produced and marketed in Vietnam as well as the first EV model for VinFast.
According to rumors that surfaced on January 6, 2022, VinFast intends to construct additional EV factories in Germany and the United States as part of its strategy to end manufacture of gas-powered vehicles and switch entirely to EVs by the end of the year.
Vinfast announced on March 29, 2022, that Chatham County, North Carolina, will be the site of its first North American vehicle manufacturing.
