Mercedes Benz
Mercedes-Benz, also known as simply Mercedes or occasionally as Benz, is a German luxury and commercial vehicle automaker founded in 1926. The headquarters of Mercedes-Benz AG, a 2019 subsidiary of the Mercedes-Benz Group, are located in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Mercedes-Benz AG manufactures premium cars for consumers as well as commercial vehicles with the Mercedes-Benz logo. Heavy commercial vehicles (trucks and buses) with the Mercedes-Benz brand will be controlled by Daimler Truck starting in November 2019. Daimler Truck was once a division of the Mercedes-Benz Group but became a separate business in late 2021. Mercedes-Benz sold 2.31 million passenger cars in 2018, making it the most popular luxury vehicle brand globally.
The Benz Patent Motorwagen, which was built by Karl Benz and funded by Bertha Benz's dowry and patented in January 1886, is where Mercedes-Benz gets its start. Later that same year, Gottlieb Daimler and his engineer Wilhelm Maybach converted a stagecoach and introduced it with the addition of a gasoline engine. Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft launched the Mercedes automobile's initial marketing campaign in 1901. (DMG).
The 1901 Mercedes 35 hp was given its name by Emil Jellinek, a DMG-affiliated European automaker, who filed the trademark in 1902. He also named his daughter Mercedes Jellinek as the name of the car. Jellinek was a businessman and marketing expert who in his new country pushed "horseless" Daimler cars among the upper echelons of society. It served as a gathering spot for Europe's haute volée during the period, particularly in the winter. In addition to the Rothschild family and other notable individuals, Jellinek also sold Mercedes automobiles in the "New World" as early as 1901, to persons like American billionaires Rockefeller, Astor, Morgan, and Taylor.
Jellinek drove under the alias "Monsieur Mercédès" at the nice race he attended in 1899 to hide his less elegant true identity. Many people view that contest as the beginning of the Mercedes-Benz brand. The name "Mercedes" was once again registered by DMG as a trademark in 1901. Following the merging of Karl Benz's and Gottlieb Daimler's firms established the Daimler-Benz corporation on June 28, 1926, the first Mercedes-Benz-branded automobiles were created.
