How do you usually plan logistics for school or university trips across France?

I’ve been helping organize a school trip for 40 students to Normandy, and the logistics are a real puzzle. We need safe, reliable transport that keeps everyone together but also allows for flexibility. Trains feel restrictive with schedules, and multiple vans sound chaotic. I’m leaning toward renting a coach but haven’t done it before. For those of you with experience, what’s the best way to handle student group travel across France?

For our school trip last year, we booked a bus service france option, and it was the smartest decision. The bus picked us up directly from the school and took us everywhere on the itinerary, including smaller towns not served by trains. Having a single vehicle gave teachers peace of mind since students were always together. Cost-wise, it was more affordable than expected when split per student. Safety and convenience made it worth it.
