The W Motors brand took seven years to develop. Carrozzeria Viotti, Magna Steyr, RUF Automobile, and StudioTorino were all engaged in the creation of W Motors. The company's first investment was more than US$13 million, with a portion coming from FFA Private Bank of Lebanon, which also became a shareholder.

At Port Hercule in Monaco, a Lykan HyperSport was seen on camera.
In January 2013, W Motors debuted the Lykan HyperSport, their first prototype vehicle, at the Qatar International Motor Show. Within a short period of time, the business relocated its headquarters to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Additionally in 2013, Universal Pictures purchased twelve Lykan HyperSport stunt vehicles for the movie Furious 7, one of which is on display at the W Motors Gallery in Dubai. Although the cars shown on screen were driveable stunt models rather than production vehicles, it is the most costly automobile to ever be featured in a Fast and the Furious movie. On October 5, 2013, the first pre-production Lykan HyperSport model made its appearance at the Dubai International Motor Show.

The Historical, Vintage, and Classical Cars Museum in Kuwait, Cohen&Cunil in Marbella, Spain, and the Dubai International Boat Show in the United Arab Emirates are a few other places where the Lykan HyperSport has been on display.

The Lykan HyperSport model made its debut at Top Marques Monaco in April 2014. In December 2014, the Lykan HyperSport was formally introduced for purchase. The HyperSport, which had a production limit of 7, cost $3.4 million and was made in Torino, Italy.

W Design School, which the company's founder Debbas had planned to establish in 2017, has now been postponed to 2020 in order to accommodate the construction of the company's factory. Furious 7 made its debut in April 2015 and included the Lykan HyperSport.

In 2012, W Motors employed a three-person automobile design team, all of whom having earned degrees in transportation design from Coventry University. It has partnerships with international partners and suppliers from the automotive industry, including Magna Steyr, StudioTorino, Ruf Automobile, Novasis Ingegneria, ID4Motion, and the University of Tokyo in the technical field, and Franck Muller Watches and Quintessentially Lifestyle Concierge Services in the luxury field. It operates several facilities in Europe, with its primary production facility located in Torino, Italy.

The Fenyr SuperSport, the company's second model, made its premiere in November 2015. Two SUV variants, with a US$200-300K price range and to be produced in the UAE, were scheduled to make their premiere in April 2016 at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.  The premiere of a car, whose model name has not been revealed, was planned for 2015 or 2016. Its suggested retail price was $200,000. The SUVs and sedans have neither been verified as upcoming manufacturing lines.

W Motors intended to move its production facilities and factories to the UAE port city of Jebel Ali sometime in 2016. By 2017, when production of the sedan and SUV lines was supposed to start, the factory was anticipated to produce more than 200 cars annually. It was planned to have a test track and would have been the first automobile production plant in the area with on-site R&D. The facility's postponement till 2020 was officially announced by W Motors in September 2017.

Additionally, the business disclosed in September 2017 that a new showroom will open in City Walk 2 and the road-legal version of the Fenyr SuperSport would make its debut in November of that same year.

They also hinted at a new model that will be unveiled in 2018 and cost approximately US$500,000, competing with vehicles like the Lamborghini Aventador SV and Ferrari F12.

Present-day W Motors now runs two locations: the main Gallery in City Walk and a design center in Dubai Business Bay.

According to the company, all seven Lykan HyperSport units have been sold, and the 10-unit Fenyr SuperSport Launch Edition series is also completely sold out (five to a Japanese businessman).

Oliver Webb, a British racing driver, was named a W Motors Brand Ambassador on November 17th[22] and participated in the organization's first track experience two days later. He will participate in W Motors events as a driver and help with the creation of their forthcoming vehicle.

Stage One of the $100 million W Motors factory's construction got under way in January 2020, and it should be finished by October 2020. W Motors reported the first 9 Fenyr SuperSport Launch Editions had been delivered and a batch of about 60 automobiles was in production at the same time the announcement was made.

Ralph Debbas stated the business will make an electric supercar in February 2020.
