Gardner Douglas is a distinguished British low-volume sports car manufacturer, renowned for its high-performance replicas of classic models. Founded in 1990 by Andy Burrows, the company is based in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. Gardner Douglas has built a reputation for producing meticulously engineered sports cars that combine the timeless appeal of 1960s designs with modern performance and reliability.

Early Beginnings and Philosophy
Andy Burrows, an engineer with a passion for classic sports cars, established Gardner Douglas with the vision of creating vehicles that offer an authentic driving experience. From the outset, the company focused on producing premium sports cars that blend the aesthetic charm of the 1960s with contemporary handling and performance. Gardner Douglas has always aimed to provide a unique interpretation of classic designs, rather than mere replicas, ensuring that each car reflects advanced engineering and craftsmanship.

Iconic Models
Gardner Douglas is best known for its replicas of the AC Cobra and the Lola T70, two legendary sports cars that have captivated enthusiasts for decades. Some of the notable models include:

GD Mk3: Based on the AC Mk.3 289, the GD Mk3 offers two chassis options: one with refurbished Jaguar suspension and another with bespoke racing suspension. The car features a steel triangulated backbone chassis with a GRP semi-monocoque body, available as a factory-built car or in component form for self-assembly.

GD Mk4: Launched to meet the demand for AC Cobra 427 replicas, the GD Mk4 uses the same proven chassis as the Mk3 but allows for more customization, including the option to fit sidepipes. The standard factory-fitted engine is the GM LS series V8.

GD T70 Spyder: Inspired by the iconic Lola T70 from the 1960s, the GD T70 Spyder features a fully triangulated tubular spaceframe chassis with alloy and GRP composite panels. It offers factory engine options from the GM LS series of V8s, ranging from 450bhp to 700bhp.

GD T70 Moda: Similar to the T70 Spyder but with better weather protection, the Moda comes with a modular roof system and is available as a factory-built car or in component form for self-assembly.

Commitment to Quality and Innovation
Gardner Douglas has always prioritized quality in every aspect of its operations, from engineering and design to customer service. The company's attention to detail and commitment to excellence have earned it a loyal following among sports car enthusiasts.
