After visiting many Ferrari and Lamborghini stores in Hollywood and Los Angeles, California, in search of a supercar that he could sit comfortably in, Craig Bramscher founded Brammo Motorsports in his garage. Despite being 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) tall and a football player at his high school, Shawnee Mission South, Bramscher has said that he sits as though he is 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) tall because of his lengthy waist. Bramscher set out to design and construct a vehicle similar to the McLaren Formula 1 car that could also handle a 300-pound passenger who was 6 feet 8 inches tall (140 kg). He registered "Brammo Motorsports" as a business name with the state of Oregon on September 4, 2002.
