The B50, which made its premiere at the 2012 Moscow International Automobile Salon, was the first model marketed by Bestune when it started selling cars in the Russian market in 2012. In 2015, there were discussions about forming a joint venture with Avtotor to produce the Besturn X80 in Russia. The Besturn X80 began production in Russia in April 2017, and according to FAW, the company would sell at least two to three additional variants by the end of 2018.

The manufacturer changed the English name of Besturn to Bestune towards the end of 2018. Benteng's Chinese name did not change.
