Berkeley

The Berkeley vehicle was the result of a partnership between designer Lawrence "Lawrie" Bond and Charles Panter's Berkeley Coachworks business, which at the time was one of the biggest caravan producers in Europe. Berkeley, who had mastered the use of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) and were searching for something to fill the gaps in the extremely cyclical caravan industry, was the perfect candidate for the project. "Something good enough to win World 750cc races... yet affordable, safe, easily repairable, and attractive" was what Panter and Bond aimed to create.
