In October 2020, Arrival raised an additional $118 million from US fund manager BlackRock, adding to the $111 million previously invested by Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motor Co. and sibling firm Kia Motors Corp. It was announced in November 2020 that Arrival will merge with the special-purpose acquisition business CIIG Merger Corp. and list on the NASDAQ.

Arrival stated in late May 2021 that it will produce electric vehicles for Uber ride-hailing drivers in the third quarter of 2023. Due to growing demand from that market, Arrival President Avinash Rugoobur announced in August 2021 that the business will establish a product development R&D facility in India. The business declared that it will begin manufacturing the following year in November 2021.
