Zotye

Zotye Auto was a privately held Chinese automotive manufacturer with its headquarters in Yongkang, Zhejiang, China (Chinese; pinyin: Zhngtài Qch; formally Zotye International Automobile Trading Co., Ltd.). It was founded in 2005 and was owned by Zotye Holding Group. It was well-known for its obvious imitation of items from various automobile manufacturers all over the world.

Zotye

The Zotye Holding Group launched Zotye in 2005. Prior to increasing manufacture of full automobiles, Zotye only had contracts to export automotive parts. This was done to capitalize on the growing Chinese auto industry. Due to their reputation as a trustworthy partner, Zotye signed agreements for sales subsidiaries in ten different nations in 2005. Zotye has increased both its car selection and manufacturing levels since 2005. The Zotye RX6400, subsequently known as the Zotye Nomad, was the brand's first compact SUV. The Daihatsu Terios was produced under license as the Zotye Nomad (see also Automotive industry in China).

2.88 billion RMB, or around €290 million, were Zotye's total revenues in 2006. On Fortune China's list of the Top 500 Chinese Companies, which was published on July 10, 2018, Zotye Auto was placed 352nd with revenues of 20.80 billion RMB and a profit of 1.13 billion RMB.
In 2021, the corporation started the insolvency and liquidation process. Complex financial problems brought on by escalating debt led to its termination.
Due to changes in the stock price of the firm, Shanghai Ziyang Investment said that it would not make any investments.
Reportedly, production began again in December 2022.
