Saic

Science Applications International Corporation, Inc. is an American technology firm with its main office in Reston, Virginia. It offers assistance with information technology and government services.

Saic

Founded by J. Robert Beyster in 1969, the first SAIC. The parent business then changed its name to Leidos and split out a $4 billion entity on September 27, 2013, keeping its original brand. Following the separation, John P. Jumper was named CEO of Leidos, while Anthony J. Moraco was named CEO of SAIC. The Federal Acquisition Regulation's conflict of interest requirements, which prohibited the business from competing on some new contracts because of existing contracts, were the main driving force behind the spinoff.

In order to strengthen their position in the intelligence sector through secret contracts, cleared employees, and a strong security infrastructure, SAIC purchased Scitor Holdings, Inc. on May 4, 2015, for $790 million. Previously, Leonard Green & Partners owned Scitor.

For a total of US$2.5 billion, SAIC announced on September 10 that it will acquire Engility, a rival in the US government services contracting market. The merger was planned to happen in January 2019.

A rival in the U.S. government services contracting market, Unisys US Federal, was acquired by SAIC on February 6, 2020, for a total of US$1.2 billion.
